Wes Tomasz Cieśla was born and raised in the medieval city of Kraków, Poland. While earning graduate degrees in Literature and Cinema Studies from Jagiellonian University, Wes founded an avant-garde theater company and went on direct and produce experimental theater productions for several years before eventually moving onto radio and television at Radio Krakow and TVP Kraków, respectively.
Wes then relocated to the United States to attend the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he currently resides. He has directed/produced a number of shorts as well as a feature film, a psychological thriller, "The Ideal," that was picked up for distribution in the US and Canada, and is currently streaming. His web series, 5 Dates, was featured at ITV Fest, and his most recent two shorts, "Mr. Styx & Me", and "Don’t Hurry Harry," also debuted on the festival circuit in 2019. His last film, "Miracles Happen Elsewhere" is about to enter the festival circuit.
Currently, Wes is in preparation for his next feature film, "American Bed&Breakfast."
